Quality really depends on your use case. Like if you want voiceovers for vids, you might need different stuff than if you’re making audiobooks.
One thing I liked is when you can add SSML tags to control how the speech sounds, like pauses and emphasis. Makes a big difference.
Just a warning, some of these AI audio tools kinda butcher the pronunciation of certain names or places. So keep an eye out if that matters.
I’ve been using a couple of these apps lately and honestly, some of them sound pretty robotic. But there are a few that nail the natural tone. Google’s text-to-speech API is decent if you’re okay with a bit of setup.
I used Amazon Polly for a project. It’s pretty easy to use and has a bunch of voices. Plus you can adjust the speech speed and pitch which helped me a lot.
Honestly, the free stuff is either super robotic or super limited. If you wanna sound more natural, might need to pay up or fiddle a lot with settings.
Sometimes I just use my phone’s built-in text-to-speech for quick stuff. Not perfect but handy and free!
Try Microsoft Azure’s text to speech service. It’s got some pretty advanced voices and is pretty straightforward to use.
Does anyone have experience with voice cloning? Like generating audio that sounds like a real person?
You should also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools. They keep a good list of fresh options for text to speech stuff.
I found some open source projects on github that try to do decent text-to-speech with AI. Not perfect but pretty promising if you wanna tinker with code.
