I've been wondering if it's appropriate or effective to use ChatGPT as a sort of therapist. Can this AI model really help with mental health issues or emotional support? What are its limitations? Are there ethical concerns? Looking forward to hearing your experiences and thoughts!

One thing to consider is privacy and data security. Sharing sensitive details with AI might not be as confidential as talking to a licensed therapist bound by HIPAA or similar laws.
In crisis situations, ChatGPT is definitely not a good option. It cannot respond to emergencies in real time or provide immediate help.
