I tried several but ended up sticking to the one built into my word processor. Not perfect but better than nothing and no extra charges.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Gonna try a few and see how they go.
I sometimes use Google Docs suggestions; it's not AI but helps catch stuff in real-time.
Sometimes these tools flag stuff that’s actually correct. Drives me nuts!
I wish there was a tool that worked offline and was free. Internet connection isn't always reliable for me.
I've been using this one for a while, and it's pretty decent for free. Catches most grammar stuff, but sometimes misses context errors.
I've been relying on Hemingway Editor's free version for simple edits and readability checks. Not AI but useful.
Anyone tried those browser extensions for proofreading? Do they actually work well?
Heads up: some free proofreading tools collect your data, so be cautious if you're working on sensitive stuff.
You can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools, they have a bunch of free options listed and reviews too.
I use LanguageTool. It's open-source and pretty good for a free product.
I noticed that some free tools don’t handle slang or informal speech well. Anyone else?
Do y'all think these free AI proofreaders will get better soon? Seems like they’re improving fast.
I recommend trying a few different ones and seeing which works best for your style.
Grammarly's free version is good enough imo. Catches most typos and basic grammar errors without charging.
I found some mobile apps with free proofreading features that are pretty handy on the go.
Honestly, some free tools are kinda hit or miss. If you need really good proofreading, sometimes paying a bit is worth it.
Anyone using free AI proofreading for professional work? Wondering if it’s reliable enough.
