Hey everyone, been looking around for a cool way to design my house online. Heard there are some apps and tools that make it super easy to sketch out plans or even do 3D models without needing to be an architect. Anyone got good recs or personal faves to share? Would love to hear what works well and maybe some tips on getting started!

If you want something a bit more automatic, try Planner 5D. It has AI features that help design rooms fast and you can see everything in 3D.
I love apps that have community galleries where people share their designs. It gives me lots of inspiration.
I actually used HomeByMe for my last house project. It lets you create floor plans and then furnish them too. Nice for seeing how furniture fits before buying anything.
I've also heard good things about Cedreo for pros but not sure if it's good for beginners. Anyone tried it?
Tried a few apps but ended up sketching on paper. Sometimes old school is fastest! But yeah, digital tools are def easier for sharing ideas with friends or contractors.
For those wanting an AI boost, I've seen some apps that generate design ideas just from a photo of your room. Pretty wild how tech is advancing!
Some tools let you order printed blueprints directly from the software. That’s a neat time saver if you need hard copies.
I've tried a few different programs, but honestly, the one that helped me the most was SketchUp. It's got a free version that's pretty powerful, and you can find tons of tutorials online. Super beginner-friendly!
Can't forget about Roomstyler. It's super user friendly and you can add real brand furniture to your designs which helps a lot for visualizing.
Started with RoomSketcher and then moved to AutoCAD LT for more detailed stuff. AutoCAD is a beast but worth it if you're serious.
What about compatibility? I want something that works on Mac and Windows, and maybe my phone too.
I think the trick is to find a tool you enjoy using, otherwise you’ll drop the project fast. So many choices can be overwhelming!
Don't forget lighting and electrical plans! Some of these tools overlook those but they're super important in real builds.
Just a heads up, some of the free versions have watermarks or limit what you can save. Worth checking before you commit too much time.
Anyone used Morpholio Board? Heard it’s great for interior design mood boards and planning.
I like tools that let you export 3D models so you can show the design to clients or friends on VR headsets. It's so cool!
Planning on designing a tiny house, so something simple but with detailed options for small spaces would be awesome.
If you want to keep things very budget-friendly, some people just use Minecraft for rough 3D modeling lol. It's kinda fun too.
Honestly, if you want something simple and free, Sweet Home 3D is a solid choice. It's got all the basics and can do 3D walkthroughs too.
