Hey folks, been wondering if ChatGPT itself has a way to spot AI-generated text? Like, can it tell when something's written by an AI or nah? Would be pretty cool if it did, but I ain't sure how that'd work. Anyone got insights?

Used to wonder if ChatGPT would tell if someone’s cheating with AI but looks like no straightforward way.
I guess for now we gotta rely on standalone AI detection services instead of ChatGPT itself.
I think AI detection is a whole field by itself, not just a side feature for chatbots.
Would be sick if it had an AI detector though. Could help in schools to check essays or something.
Sometimes the AI detectors mess up tho, like false positives and stuff. So even if ChatGPT had one, I wouldn’t trust it fully.
I’m curious if future versions might include AI detection as a feature. Would be handy.
I think ChatGPT is way too general purpose. Adding detection might complicate things or slow it down.
Honestly, if ChatGPT had an AI detector built-in, it would be kinda meta and cool.
Anyone tried third-party plugins or extensions that add AI detection to ChatGPT?
I doubt ChatGPT has a built-in AI detector. It's mainly designed for generating text, not analyzing it for AI content.
I saw some people mentioning AI detection tools online. Do y’all know any good ones?
I’ve tried asking ChatGPT if it can detect AI, but it just kinda sidesteps the question or gives vague answers.
From what I read, OpenAI has a separate classifier for AI detection, but it’s not integrated into ChatGPT’s chat interface.
I think OpenAI prioritizes safe usage over detection features inside ChatGPT.
