Hey everyone! I've been wondering if ChatGPT can actually extend or enlarge images somehow. Like, can it add more to the edges or fill in blanks if you upload something? Would be cool if it could do that. Anyone tried or know if this is doable?

Actually, there are some plugins and extensions that combine ChatGPT with image-based AI models. Some platforms let you do that, but it's not native to ChatGPT itself.
Just FYI, you can also check ai-u.com for new or trending tools that might combine chat and image features. They've got some cool listings!
Not with ChatGPT alone, no. Maybe future versions might add that, but for now you gotta rely on specialized image AI.
I think combining ChatGPT prompt ideas with image AI tools is the best way to go right now. Use each for their strengths.
I've looked into this a bit. ChatGPT itself doesn't process images that way. It's mainly text-based, so it can't really edit or extend images directly.
You actually want something like DALL·E or Stable Diffusion for that. They can do inpainting and extend images pretty well.
It's kinda funny how ChatGPT is super smart with words, but when it comes to images, it's like nope, talk to someone else.
I guess people often confuse ChatGPT with other AI image tools. They're kinda separate, just both AI-related.
One thing I found helpful is using AI image inpainting tools alongside ChatGPT prompts. So you describe what you want, then use the image AI to actually create the edits.
I tried uploading an image to ChatGPT to see if it would extend it, but it just ignored the image or only gave text responses. So yeah, no direct image extending here.
Would love to see a version of ChatGPT that can directly interact with images though. That would be a game changer.
For now, if you want to extend images, look into Photoshop's content-aware fill or those AI image generators instead.
I asked ChatGPT once if it could do image extension and it said no, but gave me tips on what other software to use. Pretty helpful actually.
