I've been wondering if ChatGPT can effectively serve as a therapist. Can it provide meaningful emotional support or help with mental health issues? What are its limitations compared to a human therapist?

While ChatGPT can offer some emotional support and guidance, it cannot replace professional therapy. It lacks empathy and understanding that come from human experience.
I've used ChatGPT to help me reflect on my feelings and it was surprisingly helpful as a supplementary tool, but I still see my therapist regularly.
One limitation is that ChatGPT cannot diagnose or treat mental health disorders. It can only provide general information and support.
